Splash is an innovative event marketing platform that empowers individuals and brands to create fully-loaded event destinations online. Whether it’s a 2-year old’s birthday party, a corporate convention, or a secret show for an A-list performer, Splash provides tools, ticketing, social and premiere software integration to make sure each event is dynamic, compelling, and has a vibrant online life of its own.

DIY users on Splash create their event page using a series of customizable templates that offer a range of content and widget blocks. Rather than plugging in dummy text or bland descriptions, the Splash team brought me on to create a series of Event Stories for a series of template types. Sample events included a backyard wedding, a law school recruitment fair and a women in tech dinner.

This awesome project combined several key copywriting skills:

  • Captivating storytelling using a range of voices, perspectives and expertise
  • Succinct, engaging copy to accommodate word count limitations in a given content field
  • Showing, not telling, users how to make the most of dynamic software tools by curating relevant content blocks and leading by example
